Microsoft 365 admins gain a revamped Meeting dashboard within the People Experiences part of the dashboard interface. It’s meant to show what is working and what fails for meetings in Teams, according to Microsoft. The number of meetings per week has increased by 153% for the average Microsoft Teams user since the start of the pandemic, and there is still no indication that this trend has reversed, Microsoft said, suggesting this peak could become “the new baseline”....

Internet Explorer (E) 11 is on its way out with Microsoft ending support for it in key apps like Teams and Office last year. However, IE 11 still remains a component of Windows 10 until June 15, 2022, after which support will be dropped in some versions of Windows 10. IE mode within Edge can be used to ensure backwards compatibility with legacy business apps and internal sites. IE mode in Microsoft Edge is supported through at least 2029 to give web developers eight years to modernize legacy apps and eventually remove the need for IE mode, Microsoft said last year....

The June 20, 2022 out-of-band (OOB) updates for Windows 11 (BKB5016138) and Windows 10 (KB5016139) fix an issue that emerged with Arm devices after the June 2022 Patch Tuesday update, which prevented some users from signing into applications including VPN connections, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook. As the issue only affects Windows devices that use Arm processors, PCs and laptops using other processors won’t receive it. The updates are cumulative, meaning that if users haven’t yet installed the June 14 security update, Microsoft recommends installing the OOB update instead....

Good news on the Windows front. On November 18th, Microsoft Announced they will be releasing a new Free Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware product Code Name “Morro.” The product will be available the second half of 2009. The press release also stated they would be killing off the Windows Live OneCare product effective June 30th, 2009. I have to say; Microsoft continues to step up their security line. They provide the best of breed Security/Software Update process for their Operating System (Apple is doing a pretty good job there as well) with Windows Update, and now they will be building AV into their products....

Loop needs some explanation because, while it’s an Office app, it’s also an app that Microsoft made to help people collaborate on projects using different Office apps. Microsoft introduced the app last year to offer users a canvas with portable components that stay in sync across apps. As such, Loop is a lightweight app with “components” that can operate across Teams, Outlook and OneNote. “Loop components are live and can be copied and pasted across Teams and Outlook – staying in sync in all the places they exist....

The preview is initially available in the West US 2, West Central US, and West Europe Azure regions. Ampere’s announcement of the Azure VM preview is here. The Dpsv5 and Epsv5 Azure VM-series feature the Ampere Altra Arm-based processor operating at up to 3.0GHz, according to Microsoft’s blog post. Speaking of Windows 10, Microsoft also announced this week that Windows 10 version 21H2 (the November Update) is now considered ready for broad deployment and will be available to everyone via Windows Update. Anyone with a device that has been deemed compatible for various reasons by Microsoft or which isn’t set up to defer feature updates will be offered 21H2. The update can be manually installed by checking for Windows Updates as of April 15....

The smartphone comes wtih a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) LCD display, has a 2MP primary camera along with a VGA secondary camera. Of course, nothing too fancy in this department, but then again, you couldn’t be expecting for more, judging by its price. As promised, Microsoft made available Office 2010 Professional Plus for download for all MSDN subscribers yesterday. If you have a subscription, you can grab either the x64 (64-bit) or x86 (32-bit) which are both around the same size (700 megs.) As I installed my copy last night, I quickly discovered you would need to uninstall the Office 2010 beta if you happen to have it installed. Just something to keep in mind....
